Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Akan Rakhmetullin took part in a High-level Pledging Event on the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).

UN Secretary-General António Guterres made a welcoming speech to the participants of the conference. In his speech, the UN Secretary General stressed the importance of the Fund's activity to overcome the consequences of natural and man-made emergencies around the world, and also called on UN member states to contribute to the Fund's efforts.

CERF (Central Emergency Response Fund) is a humanitarian fund established by the UN General Assembly on December 15, 2005 to provide humanitarian and financial assistance to the countries, affected by emergencies (natural disasters, conflicts, etc.), as well as their victims. CERF receives annual contributions from its donors, mainly Governments, as well as other funds, companies, charities and individuals.

Kazakhstan, as a responsible member of the international community, also transfers its annual contributions and actively supports the activity of the Fund.
