Kazakhstan chairs joint meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers Council, Defence Ministers Council and Committee of Security Council Secretaries

A joint meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council, Defence Ministers Council and the Committee of Security Council Secretaries was held in Astana, El.kz reports with reference to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu, Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov and Defence Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

Within the framework of the meeting, the current military-political situation in the regions in the CSTO area of responsibility was analyzed, as well as issues related to the activities of the Organization during the intersessional period were considered. The participants paid special attention to the discussion of current international events, including the situation in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Following the meeting, draft documents were approved, which are planned to be submitted for signing by the CSTO Collective Security Council. These documents are aimed at strengthening cooperation between the member countries and increasing the efficiency of the Organization.
