The meeting was attended by delegations from the CIS countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the deputy Secretary General, representative of Kazakhstan Nurlan Seitimov,El.kz reports.
Kairat Bizhanov, the deputy chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan has been elected as the new Chairman of the Council.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of economic security and cooperation in the fight against economic crimes, including illegal money trafficking, gambling and crimes using digital assets and cryptocurrencies. The issue of interdepartmental cooperation in the fight against the financing of extremism and terrorism was also raised.
Kairat Bizhanov stressed that Kazakhstan will do everything possible to effectively implement the priority areas of the Council's work and strengthen cooperation among the CIS countries.
At the end of the meeting, the new composition of the Secretariat of the Council was approved and the final protocol was signed.
