Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev met with a delegation from DRV to discuss prospects for tourism cooperation, El.kz reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the meeting was attended by DRV President Norbert Fiebig, representatives of German tour operators, as well as Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov.
Opening the meeting, Yerzhan Kosherbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to strengthening socio-economic ties with the Federal Republic of Germany, noting that tourism holds a special place in the development of bilateral cooperation.
“For Kazakhstan, tourism is not only an economic sector but also a bridge of trust between nations. Cooperation with Germany opens new horizons for promoting our country in the European market. The discussion on hosting the DRV Destination Forum in Kazakhstan is an important step toward strengthening mutual interest and developing partnership,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
The main topic of discussion was the promotion of Kazakhstan as a tourist destination for the German market, along with the potential opportunity to host the DRV Destination Forum in Kazakhstan in 2026.
Norbert Fiebig, President of DRV, highlighted that Kazakhstan is of great interest to the German tourism market thanks to its unique nature, cultural heritage, and modern infrastructure.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to visit Kazakhstan and see its tourism potential firsthand. The country’s unique nature, rich history, and modern development make it an attractive destination for German tourists. German travelers spend over €85 bln on tourism, and we are confident that Kazakhstan can take a worthy place among popular destinations,” he emphasized.
The German delegation’s program includes visits to Astana, Almaty, and Baikonur, where guests will be introduced to Kazakhstan’s tourism potential and opportunities for joint projects.
Concluding the meeting, Yerzhan Kosherbayev expressed confidence that the joint efforts of Kazakhstan and Germany will contribute to strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
