Kazakhstan has adopted a comprehensive plan for the development of maritime infrastructure for 2024-2028. Within the framework of this plan, it is planned to create a large maritime transport and logistics cluster on the basis of the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Transport.
The implementation of the plan will increase container capacity, develop cargo transshipment terminals and improve the logistics of international transportation, as well as reduce administrative barriers.
The main share of the projects will be implemented through private investment, including the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
By 2028, it is planned to increase the capacity of ports by 50 percent and triple the throughput of containers.
