The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin held a meeting with the Federal Minister of Communications, Privatization and Board of Investment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan, El.kz cites MFA.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the prospects of interaction in the transport and logistics sector, which is a key element of Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation.
They particularly emphasized on the significant transit potential of both countries, the qualitative development of which can have a positive effect not only for the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, but also for the regions of Central and South Asia. In this context, the main corridors are identified along which the transportation of goods from Kazakhstan has intensified, including to third countries through the sea ports of Pakistan.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan invited the Pakistani side to participate in the 1st Transport, Trade and Logistics Forum ‘North-South’, scheduled for July 19-20 this year in Aktau city.
The Federal Minister supported the need to develop and strengthen transport and logistics routes connecting our countries and regions, which will certainly contribute to the increase in both bilateral and regional trade, as well as the activation of new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan extended invitation for the Kazakh delegation to visit Pakistan to get acquainted with the transport infrastructure of Pakistan, including the seaports of Karachi and Gwadar.
