Today in Astana, in the heart of the Botanic Garden a solemn unveiling ceremony of the Tulip sculpture took place. This sculpture is presented to our capital by the Netherlands to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, El.kz cites MFA.
Roman Vassilenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, André Carstens, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the capital's akimat and the public attended the ceremony.
Kazakhstan and the steppes of central Eurasia are the recognized home of tulips. Even today, up to 35 species of wild tulips can be found on our steppes. At the same time, the Netherlands is also associated with flowers and especially tulips.
The tulip is a symbol of peace, happiness, prosperity and renewal. And this sculpture underscores the partnership between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands, which develops from year to year in the spirit of traditional friendship and mutual support.
