Kazakhstan and Latvia discuss issues on further development of scientific cooperation

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Dauren Karipov met at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Latvia with President of the Academy of Sciences Ivars Kalvins and a number of other prominent representatives of the Latvian scientific community – General Secretary of the Academy of Sciences Baiba Rivza, Head of the Senate Tatjana Kokje, International Secretary Modris Greitans, Director of the Institute of Economics Nina Linde and Head of the International Department Ilze Trapenciere.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed further intensification of cooperation in the field of science and innovation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in Science signed by the Academies of Sciences of the two countries in September 2023. Special attention was paid to the implementation of joint scientific projects, as well as the exchange of scientists and scientific developments.

At the end of the conversation, the sides reaffirmed their high interest in continuing mutually beneficial co-operation between the scientific communities of the two countries.
