Kazakhstan and Korea intend to expand strategic partnership in the field of construction and environmental industry, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Korean Institute of Civil Engineering and Construction Technologies (KICT), the autonomous educational organization Nazarbayev University, as well as the Republican Union of Designers of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the Korean Institute of Civil Engineering and Construction Technology is one of the leaders of South Korea in the development of rural and urban infrastructure, the construction of smart and earthquake-resistant buildings. During the meeting, the president of the institute, Kim Byung-suk, expressed interest in close cooperation between the scientific community of the two countries.
In turn, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Ilyas Ospanov noted that this document is important for the development of Kazakhstan's infrastructure. By the way, given the large territory and different climatic conditions in the country, compliance with certain building codes and standards is required.
