A seminar dedicated to deepening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia, considering ongoing global challenges and Kazakhstan’s strategic priorities for 2025, was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia.
The event was attended by representatives of business circles, public research organizations, experts, and members of the Kazakhstan Friends Club.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Zhalgas Adilbayev, delivered a welcoming speech, focusing attention on the revitalization of Kazakhstan's pragmatic foreign policy, aimed at diversifying market access and strengthening ties with key partners in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Adilbayev informed participants about the main provisions of the Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the people of Kazakhstan for 2025. He also emphasized that the country's new economic agenda requires a "Born Bold" approach—a brave, decisive, and proactive start in mastering new markets and attracting strategic investments.
The main topic of discussion was related to tapping of the potential of the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) in the context of global logistics flows reorientation.
Kazakh diplomat also provided information on Kazakhstan's investment projects in sectors, including the agro-industrial complex, mining and etc.
Participants of the seminar held a constructive discussion on trade barriers and ways to eliminate them in order to increase bilateral trade. Experts noted the high potential for launching joint ventures companies and creating a mechanism for direct dialogue between the business associations of the two countries.
The event underscored the mutual interest in transitioning from traditional trade relations to a comprehensive investment partnership based on mutual benefit and a long-term perspective, which is fully aligned with Kazakhstan's foreign policy and economic priorities for 2025.
