The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Egypt together with volunteers upon the support of the Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhi and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Isa, in honor of the Day of Gratitude, held a charity event to clean up historical places from garbage on the territory of the complex "7 girls" in the vicinity of Cairo, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Egypt.

It should be emphasized that this charity event takes place in the anniversary year of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Sultan Baibars, who has become a kind of symbol of relations between Kazakhstan and Egypt.
The governments of both countries have made a lot of effort to complete the restoration work on the territory of the Baibars Mosque complex. Within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Restoration of the Sultan Baibars Mosque in Cairo, signed on October 20, 2007, the Kazakh side allocated $ 4.5 million to the Egyptian side. The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, Dr. Mustafa Uaziri noted the importance of such actions for the common good of Egyptian and Kazakh society.
He said that all work on the reconstruction of the Baibarsa Mosque will be fully completed on March 19, 2023, in order to open its doors to parishioners and guests of Cairo on the eve of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kairat Lama Sharif, in turn, noted that the opening of the Sultan Baibars Mosque will be a special event in the cultural life of both fraternal peoples, the ceremony of which is scheduled after the celebration of Eid al-Adha in April this year in the presence of a special delegation from Kazakhstan.
On this important day, prominent Egyptian Mamluk historians, representatives of the intelligentsia and youth expressed their wishes. The event, which brought together more than 250 participants, including 200 volunteers of the two countries, was held in the spirit of unity, brotherhood and mutual respect for the pages of history of the two countries.
