Today, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China Sun Yeli. The main topic of discussion was the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Aida Balayeva stressed that the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his participation in the Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of State will give a new impetus to bilateral relations. She also congratulated the Chinese side on the successful registration of the Chinese Cultural Center in Astana.
"The opening of cultural centers will be a landmark event for Kazakhstan and China. Cooperation in this direction will progressively develop and bring positive results for the people of the two countries”, Aida Balayeva said.
In addition, the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan expressed her readiness to cooperate in the field of archives, the return of historical documents and artifacts related to Kazakhstan, which are in China.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, Sun Yeli, confirmed his readiness to cooperate and stressed that after agreeing on the program, the Chinese side will begin work and submit the documents to the relevant authorities.
"Cultural cooperation between our countries plays a key role in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between our peoples. We see a huge potential for joint cultural projects and initiatives," Sun Yeli said.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that today's agreements will be an important step towards the further development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and China.
