A meeting was held between the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China, headed by the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xu Qiaiai, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, issues of further cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations in accordance with the agreement signed in 2014 were discussed. It is also planned to strengthen the exchange of experience and information in the field of emergency management, as well as deepen comprehensive cooperation in the field of emergency management, which will contribute to increasing the capacity of the two countries to reduce the risk of large-scale natural disasters and respond to them.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, which provides for cooperation between the countries on the use of satellite remote sensing technologies in the field of disaster prevention and risk reduction, on strengthening the exchange of experience in the field of emergency medical care and search and rescue operations in urban environments, the possibility of preparing and conducting joint exercises on the implementation of rescue operations in natural disasters.
It is planned to study and develop a mechanism for joint response and search and rescue operations in case of transboundary emergencies, to strengthen cooperation in the field of emergency management within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
At the end of the meeting, Yuri Ilyin expressed gratitude to Mr. Xu Qiaiai and noted the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the departments.
At the same time, the delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China visited the Situation Room of the Crisis Management Center. During the visit of the delegation, information was provided on the main activities of the Center, issues of formation and transmission of operational information by duty services were discussed.
