At the invitation of the Canadian Department of Justice, a Kazakh delegation made a working visit to study international experiences in combating domestic violence and stalking, El.kz cites MFA.
The delegation included representatives from the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Culture and Information, as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations.
During the week-long visit, the delegation engaged in a series of talks with the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court, and law enforcement agencies in Canada, and visited specialized rehabilitation facilities that support victims of domestic violence.
In the course of the meetings, the parties discussed key issues related to Kazakh-Canadian cooperation in the fields of human rights, domestic violence, and stalking.
The Canadian side highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s efforts in this area and reaffirmed its commitment to further cooperation to enhance legal protections for women’s and children’s rights in both countries.
