The Kazakh delegation headed by the Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev held meetings with representatives of the Austrian side. The delegation included Vladimir Sytnik, Vice-President of SCAT Airlines, and representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Austria, who discussed with the Susanne Kraus-Winkler, State Secretary for Tourism of Austria and the Julian Jäger, CEO of Vienna Airport the details of the opening of a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Austria, El.kz reports.
The new route, which will be operated by SKAT Airlines, is expected to start operating in the spring of 2025. Flights will be operated twice a week, which will facilitate travel between countries and strengthen tourist ties. Also during the negotiations, issues of visa support to stimulate tourism were discussed.
The new flight will be a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations and developing the tourism potential of Kazakhstan and Austria.
