Kazakhs to receive vouchers worth up to 500,000 tenge for IT training

Astana Hub has opened applications for the 5th season of the Tech Orda programme, marking the initiative’s fifth anniversary.

Kazakh citizens aged 18 to 45 will have the opportunity to undertake training at accredited IT schools across the country using a training voucher.

The maximum voucher value for in-person training is 500,000 tenge For online or hybrid programmes, the voucher value is lower, at up to 400,000 tenge.

The programme is implemented with the support of the Kazakh Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. Training areas include AI, cybersecurity, software development, data analytics, cloud technologies and DevOps, Game Development, product management, and UI/UX design.

Deputy PM Jaslan Madiyev identified the development of human capital in the technology sector as one of the priorities of the country’s digital transformation.

According to him, demand for such programmes remains high, and the Government intends to continue supporting initiatives that promote career development in the IT sector.

Results over 5 years

Between 2021 and 2026, over  12,500 Kazakhstanis completed training under the Tech Orda programme. Monitoring data indicate that 90% of economically active programme graduates are employed.

The average salary of graduates is 725,000 tenge which is nearly 43% above the national average. Over 3,200 programme participants have changed careers and started working in the technology sector.

Employers of programme graduates

A total of 1,287 companies have hired Tech Orda graduates. Employers include Kaspi.kz, Halyk Bank, Freedom Finance, Kolesa Group, Kcell, EPAM Kazakhstan, Yandex, Wolt, 2GIS, as well as Deloitte, KPMG, EY and Accenture.

Regional IT schools account for more than 30% of programme participants, expanding access to high-quality training beyond the country’s major cities.
