Askhat Aimagambetov met with representatives of the company "Meta", which includes such social networks as Facebook, Instagram, and the WhatsApp messenger, El.kz reports with reference to the official account of the minister on Facebook.
"We discussed issues of cooperation and popularization of the education sector on the expanses of the listed social networks. It is important for us to promote educational content, especially in the Kazakh language, and to address the issue of protecting children from inappropriate content. I am glad that Meta's Managing Director for Government Relations in Central Asia and other colleagues supported these initiatives.
Our teachers actively express their opinions, raise problematic issues and share news on Facebook.
Also today, our teachers actively use the Instagram platform and tell schoolchildren about a particular subject, thereby increasing the interest of children in learning. And we welcome and support such initiatives of teachers, their desire to involve schoolchildren in the educational process in modern ways deserves praise," Askhat Aimagambetov said.
In turn, George Chen and his colleagues also noted the activity of Kazakhstani teachers and parents in social networks and proposed to conduct special trainings for teachers. They can be aimed at educating teachers to more actively use various digital resources in the educational process.
