Kazakh woman wins Mrs Europe title

Almaty resident Svetlana Petrova has won the Mrs Europe 2026 international contest. She shares her victory on Instagram, stating that the competition’s main crown had been awarded to a representative of Kazakhstan for the first time, El.kz reports.

“Today, we have written a new page in history. For the first time in history, Kazakhstan has won the Mrs Europe title. It is a great honour for me to be the first to bring this crown to my country. This victory is for Kazakhstan,” Svetlana Petrova wrote.

The final took place in Tallinn

The Mrs Europe 2026 final show was held in Tallinn on 19 September, with the pageant’s programme continuing through the following day. Contestants travelled to the capital of Estonia from various countries and took part in photo sessions, workshops, cultural and community events.

Following the competition, Svetlana Petrova of Kazakhstan was awarded the main title of Mrs Europe 2026. She also received the special title of Mrs Europe Friendship.

The first runner-up was Gibraltar’s Gabriella Luque. She also received an award for her presentation at a forum, where she spoke about the responsibilities of social media users.

How Mrs Europe differs from a traditional beauty pageant

The project is intended for adult women and focuses on their life experience, achievements, cultural identity and community engagement. Married, divorced and widowed women aged 25 to 55 were eligible to participate, and professional modelling experience was not a mandatory requirement.

The programme in Tallinn also extended beyond stage catwalks. Contestants presented national costumes, attended workshops and took part in a city tour, while a separate part of the programme was devoted to social issues.

Svetlana Petrova represents Almaty and works in marketing and social media management (SMM), as well as has her own blog. Following her victory, she emphasised that she regarded the title as an achievement for Kazakhstan.
