Kazakh Tazy named Kerbez was crowned Champion of Italy. His victory is part of a historic success for the national breed, El.kz reports

The Kazakh Tazy, Kerbez, performed successfully at the prestigious World Dog Show 2026 in Bologna, Italy. Under the judging of international expert Arne Foss, the dog received an "Excellent" rating, won his class, and earned the title of Champion of Italy.

A historic result for the Kazakh Tazy

Kerbez's success was part of a major achievement for the national breed. This marked the first time the Kazakh Tazy participated in the World Dog Show after receiving preliminary recognition from the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).

World and Italian champions

Following the results of the World Dog Show 2026, the titles of World Champions were awarded to Lashyn and Reya, while Chelsea and Tabigat became Junior World Champions.

The titles of Italian Champions were awarded to Duster, Lashyn, Reya, Pers, Arlan, and Kerbez. Chelsea, Tabigat, and Aktaban were named Junior Italian Champions.

Kazakhstan presents the breed to the World

Beyond the show rings, Kazakhstan presented the Kazakh Tazy at the IV World

Congress of FCI Judges, where international experts were briefed on the history, standards, and unique characteristics of the national breed.

A special stand dedicated to the Kazakh Tazy also operated in the center of the exhibition complex, drawing significant interest from visitors and specialists from around the globe.

A step toward full intl recognition

The Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan noted that the results of the World Dog

Show 2026 are of particular importance for the further promotion of the breed.

As a reminder, in September 2024, the FCI officially granted preliminary recognition to the Kazakh Tazy and established Kazakhstan’s status as the breed's country of origin. The successful performance in Bologna marks another vital step toward achieving final international recognition.
