Swimming competitions kicked off at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, El.kz reports.
Adilbek Mussin set a new national record in the 50-meter butterfly event, finishing the distance in 23.33 seconds and placed 18th. The top 16 swimmers advanced to the next round.
Sofya Spodarenko competed in the 100-meter butterfly, finishing 42nd, while Arsen Kozhakhmetov placed 45th in the 100-meter breaststroke race.
For the Kazakhstani team, these races marked the first stage of the world championship, and the athletes will continue their campaign in the upcoming events.
