The work of the Central Asia-China summit has begun at the Center for International Conferences, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

"It is very symbolic that the Summit, so important for our states, is taking place in the ancient city of Xi'an, where the Great Silk Road began, which brought together the historical destinies, present and future of our peoples.

This city embodies not only the richest historical and cultural heritage, but is also a vivid reflection of the power of modern China. In this vein, full-scale cooperation with China, one of the largest investors and the world's leading economy, is a long-term factor of sustainable progress for Kazakhstan.

The synergy of the potentials of the Central Asian countries with the colossal economic capabilities of China can set a new, higher trajectory of our partnership. Kazakhstan is ready to make every effort to achieve these goals.

Currently, Kazakhstan is carrying out multifaceted, large-scale reforms aimed at diversifying the national economy. Purposeful work is underway to remove barriers and create the most favorable conditions for foreign investors.

Over the years of Independence, we have attracted more than $350 billion in foreign direct investment. At the same time, more than $23 billion of investments were attracted from China. We are grateful to the Chinese government and are ready for further active cooperation with China in the investment sphere.

Yesterday, as part of my state visit, an investment forum was held, and agreements worth $22 billion were signed. The Kazakh side will make every effort to implement these agreements. Given its geographical location, our country is an important transport and logistics corridor at the regional and transcontinental levels.

In this regard, Kazakhstan is ready to use its trade, economic and logistics potential for the benefit of deepening cooperation with friendly China. The volume of Kazakh-Chinese trade has reached $31 billion, and President Xi and I have agreed to increase it to $40 billion” the Kazakh Leader said.
