The Kazakh President received Head of Baiterek National Managing Holding. Nurlan Baibazarov, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the results of the holding's activities for 2023, including work to support entrepreneurship, the agro-industrial complex and the provision of housing for the population.
The President was informed that in 2023, the holding's assets showed an increase of 12%, the group's investment and loan portfolios increased by 10%, and net profit by 7%, exceeding 400 billion tenge.
According to Nurlan Baybazarov, as part of the development of the real sector of the economy, Baiterek exceeded the planned indicators of financing large projects and leasing transactions by 24%; micro, SMEs projects – by 42%.
Record development was achieved through the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and the Industrial Development Fund in the amount of 1.061 trillion tenge for 300 projects and leasing transactions. 554.7 billion tenge was invested in the agro-industrial complex, which is 11% higher than the planned volume. Also in 2023, assistance was provided to 1.1 thousand farmers affected by drought and excess moisture in the amount of 48 billion tenge through subsidiaries.
The Head of State was also informed that over 2 million square meters were commissioned through the holding during the reporting year. 317.6 billion tenge was invested in the housing sector. Loans worth over 1 trillion tenge were issued through the mortgage products of Otbasy Bank JSC.
At the meeting, the holding's initiatives for 2024 were announced. Among them are investments in agricultural projects in the amount of 370 billion tenge and the creation of over 4 thousand new jobs, the launch of programs to finance the manufacturing industry, the tourism industry, the construction of waste processing and sorting plants, the start of the 9-20-25 housing program.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that as a result of the implementation of initiatives by the end of the year, Baiterek's contribution to the country's economic growth will be doubled compared to 2022.
The Head of State stressed the importance of launching new programs and applying an integrated approach to support economic growth and improve the quality of life of citizens, and also gave a number of instructions to strengthen the work of Baiterek in terms of diversifying the economy and developing strategically important industries.
