Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov discussed with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao the results of joint work to increase bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.
The meeting is timed to the completion of the diplomatic mission of Zhang Xiao as Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Olzhas Bektenov noted the constructive work to achieve the objectives set by the Heads of State. In recent years, significant progress has been made in strengthening bilateral economic ties. Bringing relations to a new level of cooperation contributes to the increase in trade turnover, expansion of exports and inflow of investments. China remains Kazakhstan's largest trading partner. A promising tool for unlocking the potential of cooperation will be an increase in cargo traffic along the Trans-Caspian Multimodal Corridor.
In turn, Zhang Xiao said that trade turnover between the countries since the beginning of this year has increased by 12% and amounted to $36.5 billion. Ambassador of China also stated the growing interest in the Kazakh market from major Chinese investors, which indicates a favourable business climate.
Following the conversation, the parties emphasised the importance of further strengthening of comprehensive trade and economic partnership.
