The Kazakh national team will take part in the International Olympiad in Linguistics (IOL-2023), which will be held in Bansko, Bulgaria. This is an annual competition in theoretical, mathematical and applied linguistics among schoolchildren, consisting of personal and team parts, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A personal competition is the solution of five linguistic problems by participants and their presentation on paper. The team competition includes the solution of one complex and non-standard linguistic problem. Participation in the Olympiad does not require prior knowledge of languages, and logical abilities, patient work and the ability to think are enough to successfully complete tasks.
The first Linguistic Olympiad was held in 2003 in Bulgaria, and since then the national team of Kazakhstan has been actively participating since 2015.
Over the years of participation in the Olympiad, the national team of Kazakhstan has earned 5 bronze medals and 5 certificates of honor, a total of 10 awards. Participants and coaches strive to continue successful performances and bring honor to their country in international competitions in linguistics.
