The President listened to a report on the state of legality in the country and the results of work in priority areas of supervisory activities.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the results of international cooperation in providing legal assistance and searching for criminals hiding abroad. In a number of high-profile criminal cases, suspects were detained and returned to Kazakhstan for justice.
The Head of State was informed that mutual understanding had been reached with authoritative international organizations, including the Council of Europe, Interpol, the OECD and the OSCE in terms of return of illegally acquired assets.
According to Berik Asylov, legal assistance was provided to 220 investors who invested 2.7 trillion tenge in the country's economy. As a result of this work, the level of investor confidence in public institutions increases. During the meeting, the real state of affairs in the regions in attracting direct investment was considered.
The President was presented with a report on the crime situation in the country and on measures aimed at ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens in the criminal law sphere.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to take measures to further strengthen the rule of law in the country, protect citizens, including entrepreneurs.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed Berik Assylov to take further steps to ensure the strengthening of law and order in the country, protection of citizens, including entrepreneurs. The Prosecutor General’s Office was urged to use a wide spectrum of advanced technologies in search for illegally acquired assets abroad.
The Head of State stressed the importance of effective use of the "prosecutor's filter" on the decisions of authorized bodies in relation to investment projects. At the same time, he focused on the need to strengthen the control and responsibility of these bodies for the reliability of their data on attracted investments.
The President also noted the need to use a wide range of modern technologies aimed at finding and returning assets illegally withdrawn abroad.
