Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping hold talks in expanded format

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping held talks with the participation of official delegations of the two states, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

 Tokayev noted that he considers Xi Jinping's state visit as a vivid evidence to further deepen the Kazakh-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership.

"Kazakhstan attaches great importance to strengthening the ties of centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness with China. Through our joint efforts, interstate cooperation has been established, which can serve as a model for bilateral relations. Our ties contribute to sustainable socio-economic growth and improving the well-being of the two peoples. Last year, mutual trade exceeded $41 billion, which is a record figure. Currently, 45 joint investment projects totaling $14.5 billion are being implemented in various fields," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also expressed support for China's peace initiatives and praised its contribution to building a just world order. He noted that Kazakhstan is ready to support the initiative "Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" and invariably adheres to the "one China" policy.

Chinese President Xi Jinping noted the dynamic development of Kazakhstan.

"The friendship between our countries has taken root since the ancient Silk Road and is constantly developing. Our bilateral ties have reached an unprecedented level of comprehensive strategic partnership," Xi Jinping said.

The leaders discussed the prospects for the development of investment cooperation in various fields, including e-commerce, the production of cars and auto parts, transit and transport, logistics, energy, agriculture, finance and tourism. They confirmed the readiness of the governments of both countries to assist in the successful implementation of current and future business projects.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping also exchanged views on deepening interregional cooperation and expanding cultural and humanitarian contacts. The head of Kazakhstan supported the opening of a branch of the Beijing University of Language and Culture and the Luban Workshop, noting that the expansion of scientific and educational ties is in line with the spirit of strategic partnership between the countries.
