The Head of State held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in a narrow format, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that his first visit to Serbia as Head of State is of particular importance. He stressed that this visit opens a new important page in Kazakh-Serbian relations.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that trusting cooperation between the two countries is based on constant political dialogue and mutual support. According to him, in recent years, Astana and Belgrade have taken significant steps to strengthen economic cooperation, actively developing trade and investment ties.
Taking the opportunity, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to Aleksandar Vučić and the people of Serbia for the solidarity shown during the spring floods in Kazakhstan.
Aleksandar Vučić, in turn, expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop on the basis of mutual respect and trust. He noted that Belgrade is interested in further deepening economic ties with Kazakhstan, including in the field of trade, investment and joint projects in key sectors of the economy.
The President of Serbia reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening the political dialogue with Kazakhstan and noted the importance of further coordination of actions in the international arena.
During the meeting, the heads of state discussed the current state of relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia, as well as promising areas for further strengthening cooperation. In addition, the parties exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
