Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageAmerican rapper Kanye West, currently performing under the name Ye, will hold a concert in Almatyon 14 August at the city’s Central Stadium. The upcoming event was announced by blogger Beibit Alibekov. Ticket sales will commence on 20 July at 12:00 p.m.
The Almaty performance will form part of the artist’s global stadium tour, LIVE CONCERT TOUR 2026. The tour commenced in Los Angeles in April and expanded to major stadium venues across Europe and the United States by early summer.
One of the tour’s most notable performances took place on 30 May at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, attracting a record audience of 118,000 spectators, the largest attendance of the artist’s career to date. Organizers of the Almaty concert anticipate a comparable scale and describe the event as the largest concert in the history of Central Asia.
Details regarding a potential scheduling conflict between the concert and the stadium’s football fixtures have not yet been disclosed. In their public statements, the concert organizers expressed their appreciation to the Akimat of Almaty and entrepreneur Timur Turlov for their support.
Beibit Alibekov also stated that Timur Turlov played a key role in ensuring that the concert proceeded despite its late announcement.
“Almaty was initially included in the tour schedule, but at one stage the negotiations stalled, the dates kept shifting, and the concert was close to being cancelled,” Alibekov said later.
