Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageA Japanese game studio has started asking job applicants to draw live during interviews to prove their work isn’t generated by AI, El.kz reports.
The policy was introduced after a few recent hires were discovered submitting AI-made art as their own.
According to the studio’s Chief Graphic Designer, the test might feel a bit old-school, but it’s the only reliable way to verify real skill. Not everyone on the team agrees, though. Some believe the company should be looking for people who understand AI tools instead of avoiding them.
The decision captures a growing tension in creative industries as studios try to figure out how to balance evolving technology with genuine artistic talent.
