A wind power plant is planned to be built in Astana at the expense of foreign investors, El.kz reports.
The issue is being discussed jointly with representatives of the Italian oil and gas company ENI (Arm Wind LLP) and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"At the first stage, the capacity of the wind farm will be 50 megawatts, with a further possibility of increasing to more than 100 megawatts. This project in the field of renewable energy sources will create an additional significant amount of electricity, thereby providing electricity to future areas of development," Akim of the capital reported in his Instagram.
The amount of attracted foreign private investment is almost 50 billion tenge.
