IPO of Air Astana discussed at meeting of State Commission on Economic Modernization

At a meeting of the State Commission on Economic Modernization chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, issues of conducting an initial public offering of Air Astana shares were discussed, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It was emphasized that the IPO is planned to be held this year as part of the implementation of the Comprehensive Privatization Plan for the period from 2021 to 2025.

To date, Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Air Astana, together with international consultants, have successfully completed a significant amount of preparatory activities.

The meeting focused on determining the price range for one common share and one global depositary receipt of the company, pre-approved to start collecting applications from January 29 to February 8 of this year.

IPO (Initial Public Offering) is an initial public offering of a company's shares on the stock exchange in order to attract investment. As part of the IPO, the company issues publicly traded shares available to both institutional and retail investors.
