In the framework of enhancing interparliamentary cooperation, a meeting with the newly appointed members of the Kazakhstan-Türkiye Friendship Group was held at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, El.kz cites MFA.
At the meeting, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Türkiye Yerkebulan Sapiyev informed about the ongoing political and socio-economic reforms in Kazakhstan. In addition, Ambassador briefed the Turkish parliamentarians on the institutional changes made to the elections, political parties and Parliament legislations in order to strengthen political competition in the country, as well as informed about the main content of the interview of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the newspaper “Egemen Qazaqstan”.
The Head of the Friendship Group Mehmet Ali Cevheri noting the strategic level of bilateral relations expressed the readiness of the Parliamentary Group to further contribute to enhancement of cooperation. In addition, proposed holding joint visits to the provinces of the elected Friendship Group members in order foster investment and trade ties. Furthermore, sharing the views on upcoming activities he highly valued the current level of interaction between parliaments and friendship groups of Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
