International seminar held in Almaty in honor of National Book Day and Librarians’ Day

The Alatau Creative Hub hosted an international seminar for librarians dedicated to National Book Day and Librarians’ Day. The event brought together heads and specialists from the library sector across various regions to discuss current issues in modern librarianship and exchange international experience,El.kz reports citing Almaty Akimat.

During the meeting, participants were presented with the modern capabilities of Almaty’s libraries, adaptation projects for people with special needs, the automation of library processes, access to electronic resources, and innovative developments in the field of digitalization.

A highlight of the seminar was a teleconference featuring international partners of Almaty’s libraries - leading experts from different countries.

Representatives of the Selangor Public Library (Malaysia), the National Library of Sweden, the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) joined online to share industry news and achievements, as well as to extend their congratulations to colleagues.

In addition, the seminar included discussions on the capabilities of the automated library information system “MegaPro”. General Director of the Russian company Data Express and Candidate of Economic Sciences Vladimir Gribov delivered a presentation on the effectiveness of software solutions for libraries.

The seminar became an important platform for studying advanced international experience and improving the professional qualifications of participants.

An employee of the Almaty Regional Universal Library Aliya Boranbay shared her opinion, highly praising the level of the seminar:
