Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and Moldova discussed in Chisinau

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Moldova Almat Aidarbekov met with members of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova headed by its leader Bogdat Tirdea, El.kz cites MFA.

After the exchange of greetings, the Kazakh diplomat noted that the purpose of the meeting is to inform members of the Moldovan Parliament about the upcoming parliamentary election in Kazakhstan scheduled for March 19, 2023, as well as political and economic reforms carried out in Kazakhstan by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In his speech, Ambassador Aidarbekov noted that the early elections to the Mazhilis and maslikhats are holding according to the constitutional reform supported by citizens at the national referendum last year. As a result, our country has moved to new, fair and more competitive rules for the formation of a legislative branch of the government.

In turn, MPs expressed their interest in issues of interaction with Kazakhstan in terms of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Representatives of the Group also expressed their interest in the development of interregional cooperation between two nations.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue the dialog in each format.
