"I am always deeply grateful for how Kazakhs met us," the German woman shared her memories

An elderly woman shared her memories of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports.

- I am always deeply grateful for how Kazakhs met I still remember that one  woman would stop me, "kyz, bala!" and give me either a baursak, or a kurt, or an irimshik. It was such a joy for the children," she shared her memories.

According to historians, during the period 1941-1942, more than 1.2 million Germans were resettled, a third of them, or 444,000 people, stayed in Kazakhstan.
