Kazakhstan is revising its approach to migration, shifting the focus toward attracting investors and specialists in high-demand fields, El.kz reports.

The updated regulations introduce a differentiated approach to migration. The primary emphasis is placed on attracting foreign nationals who can contribute to the economy and the development of key industries.

Focusing on Investment and Human Resources

As noted by Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, these measures are designed to stimulate economic activity.

"Specific visa categories remain available for investors, issued to heads and participants of investment projects, as well as their family members. These measures allow for a simplified entry into the country’s economy, fostering business development and job creation," she emphasized.

Who Qualifies for Simplified Entry

Particular attention is given to foreign specialists with in-demand professions. Special visas have been established for them, including categories that provide a path to permanent residency.

The list includes 51 specialties, such as neurosurgeons, hematologists, pharmaceutical process engineers, bacteriologists, and graphic animation specialists. The list is compiled based on market needs and is updated regularly.

Furthermore, simplified entry is also possible upon the recommendation (petition) of government authorities.

New Visa Categories

Kazakhstan is also introducing additional mechanisms to attract qualified personnel. This includes visas for high-skilled specialists and so-called "Digital Nomads."

According to Aida Balayeva, this will enable the country to attract global talent and modern technology, thereby enhancing the economy's competitiveness.
