The Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands honored the memory of the great Kazakh writers, poets and playwrights at a specially organized round table, El.kz cites MFA.l
Literary critics and scientists from Kazakhstan came to take part in the discussion, the topic of which was “Modern research in Kazakh literature.”
“Kazakh literature is the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, passed down from generation to generation for centuries. The names of Abai, Zhambyl, Mukhtar Auezov, Sabit Mukanov, Gabit Musrepov, Gabiden Mustafin, Abdizhamil Nurpeisov, Anuar Alimzhanov, Olzhas Suleimenov have been adequately representing Kazakhstan in the historical context of world literature for decades. With the support of UNESCO, the anniversaries of many Kazakhstani writers were widely celebrated all over the world,” said the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumagaliyev during a welcoming speech at the round table.
The diplomat noted that the second half of the 20th century was a golden age in the history of Kazakh literature.
“In those years, Mukhtar Auezov wrote “The Path of Abai” and the whole world recognized the great Kazakh thinker. It is noteworthy that this work describes the Dutch city of Leiden, so the fact that we have gathered here today is no coincidence,” Zhumagaliyev addressed the assembled literary critics.
As it was noted by Almira Kaliyeva, Deputy Director of the Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Auezov’s work is currently being studied from the semiotic, anthropological, geopoetic, gender, and phenomenological points of view.
“It seems to us that tectonic changes, transdisciplinary interests, methodological modernization, occurring as a result of the process of scientific integration, allow us to see the writer's works from completely new positions. No matter how much time has passed, the Auezov language has retained its qualities as the standard of the national literary language,” Kaliyeva said.
The round table participants discussed the role and heritage of such great writers as Akhmet Baitursynov, Abai Kunanbaev, Ybyray Altynsarin, Gabit Musrepov and many other pillars of Kazakh literature.
The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M. Auezov, Candidate of Philological Sciences Almira Kalieva, Director of the House-Museum of Mukhtar Auezov Diar Kunaev, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M. Auezov Svetlana Ananyeva, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai Alua Tanzharykova, granddaughter of Mukhtar Auezov Zifa-Alua Muratovna and many others.
