Headquarters for preparation for Olympic Games opened in Astana

Today, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports opened a headquarters for the preparation for the Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon (Korea) and the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.

The headquarters coordinates the preparation of national teams for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The purpose of its work is to prepare for the upcoming competitions, and it will be valid until the end of all competitions. The headquarters employs six people, including representatives of the National Olympic Committee and heads of sports teams. The event brought together Olympic champions, world medalists and journalists.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev, speaking at the meeting, noted the successful achievements of athletes in 2023 and stressed the importance of preparing for the World Nomad Games to popularize national sports and strengthen ties between peoples. Yermek Marzhikpayev also summed up other results of the past year and spoke about the progress of preparations for the upcoming competitions.

"Today we have gathered at the first meeting of the Headquarters for the preparation for the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon-2024, the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. For the high-quality preparation of the national team, a pool of athletes was formed - probable contenders for winning licenses and medals. Some national team leaders will prepare according to an individual plan, which will be drawn up taking into account the specifics of each sport, the needs of the athlete, medical and biological support, including physiotherapy, rehabilitation and injury prevention, psychological support and assistance to athletes in managing stress in preparation for competitions. It should be noted that the approaches and principles of forming the training calendar for our athletes have been completely revised," the head of the department said.
