President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received US Senator Steve Daines. The meeting discussed key areas of Kazakh-American cooperation. During the meeting, Tokayev expressed recognition for the dynamic development of bilateral relations between the countries and noted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
The President stressed the importance of attracting investment and developing industry in Kazakhstan, focusing on energy, mining and processing of minerals, as well as infrastructure modernization as key areas of cooperation.
The topic of international and regional security also took center stage in the discussions. President Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan condemned the terrorist act in the Moscow region and expressed solidarity with Russia.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in the fight against terrorism, all countries, despite the contradictions in relations with each other, should join forces within the framework of a large-scale international coalition. Kazakhstan is ready to make its contribution to this necessary cause.
