A welcoming ceremony for Czech PM Andrej Babiš, who is in Kazakhstan on an official visit, was held at the Akorda Presidential Residence.
During the event, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Andrej Babiš introduced members of their official delegations to each other. The commander of the honor guard company delivered a welcoming report, and the national anthems of the two countries were played.
After that, the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic run an one-on-one meeting.
Welcoming Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the Head of State emphasized that he is well known in Kazakhstan as a political figure recognized not only in the Czech Republic but throughout Europe.
“Our countries have long maintained very close and friendly relations. Trade ties are developing successfully. The peoples of both countries sincerely strive for closer cooperation. It is very important that we coordinate our efforts within major international organizations. Our embassies are actively working both here and in your capital. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the fact that a representative delegation of Czech entrepreneurs arrived with you. Yesterday, a business forum was successfully held in Astana. For my part, I will do everything possible to further strengthen our multifaceted cooperation,” the President said.
In turn, Andrej Babiš thanked for the warm welcome and highly praised Kazakhstan’s achievements in various fields.
“It is a great honor for me to be in your wonderful country, which is an extremely important state in Central Asia. I congratulate you on the adoption of the new Constitution. I believe your experience in this matter would also be useful for our country. I had always dreamed of visiting Kazakhstan because after graduating from university in 1978, I worked in a department that cooperated with Shymkent and Zhambyl (Taraz). Kazakhstan is a country of enormous importance in the energy sector. You are the largest producer of uranium. Concluding an agreement in this field is very important for us, since nuclear power plants are now gaining special significance. I am deeply impressed by Kazakhstan’s achievements in the field of artificial intelligence. Our countries have much in common. I believe that our governments will make every effort to continue developing our relations,” the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic said.
