Askhat Oralov, Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Jowkar. The parties discussed cooperation between the countries in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, El.kz reports.
Ali Akbar Jowkar made a number of interesting proposals. For example, about holding a friendly match between the football teams of Kazakhstan and Iran.
“The idea is good and we are open to the possibility of organizing such a meeting. Separately, we dwelled on the topic of tourism. In order to increase the recognition of our country among Iranian travelers, Mr. Jowkar proposed to organize this year the days of culture of Kazakhstan in Iran and a similar event with the participation of Iranian artists in our country. This can be an important step in the development of bilateral relations between our countries. However, preparing for the days of culture will take time," Askhat Oralov wrote.
There was also a proposal to send the best Iranian specialists in the restoration of ancient manuscripts to Kazakhstan.
“This area is very developed in Iran, so we welcome this initiative. In addition, Mr. Ambassador expressed interest in exchanging experience in the field of restoration of historical monuments.
I, in turn, invited Iranian tour operators and businessmen to participate in the international tourism forum, which will be held this fall in Aktau. Mr. Ambassador replied that Iranian entrepreneurs would be very interested in this proposal, and also announced the possible participation of the Minister of Tourism of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the event.
I am sure that the upcoming forum will help our and Iranian businesses find a common language and increase the mutual flow of tourists through joint efforts. In addition, I proposed to start bilateral cooperation in the field of cinematography. I think there is great potential in this area," he said.
During the official visit of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Iran, the Cultural Exchange Program for 2022-2025 was signed between our countries. The document includes the exchange of information on festivals, the exchange of experience in the field of historical and cultural heritage, museum and librarianship.
