The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn held a meeting with the newly appointed Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, El.kz cites MFA.
Ambassador Aryn presented a letter of the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi addressed to Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi with congratulations on the occasion of assuming his duties as Secretary General of the GCC and wished him further success in his career.
During the meeting, the parties discussed interaction issues between Kazakhstan and the GCC General Secretariat, including expanding trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties within the new format of interregional cooperation - “Central Asia - GCC.” At the same time, the parties paid attention to the issues of further development of political dialogue at the high and highest levels between the countries of Central Asia and the GCC.
The diplomats also considered the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the First “Central Asia – GCC” Ministerial Meeting, held on September 7, 2022, in Riyadh.
In addition, Ambassador Aryn briefed on the key directions of the course of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on building a “Just and Fair Kazakhstan” and the democratization of society, including the main aspects of the implementation of complex socio-political transformations and constitutional amendments, as well as on preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies to the Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi emphasizing the importance of strengthening strategic dialogue relations between the GCC and Kazakhstan, expressed interest in further developing cooperation with the Central Asian countries in such priority areas as investment, transport and logistics, science and culture, etc.
