Gennady Golovkin was elected as the new head of the NOC of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports citing press service of the NOC.

"It will be a great honor for me to represent our country in a new capacity. When I was offered to head the NOC of Kazakhstan, I agreed to nominate my candidacy on the condition that I would be allowed to contribute to the development of Kazakhstani sports. As you know, I am neither a politician nor an official. I have my own vision and many years of international experience, I have a team, and most importantly, I have a sincere desire to implement everything in my native country," Gennady Golovkin said.
