President of Kazakhstan’s National Olympic Committee Gennady Golovkin
has been elected as the chairman of the new Olympic Commission of the International Boxing Federation (World Boxing), El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the NOC.
In this position, the head of the NOC of Kazakhstan will focus his work on interaction with international sports organizations in ensuring the transparency of World Boxing's activities.
- Gennady Golovkin's candidacy is one of the first to be approved by World Boxing. In the near future, the Olympic Commission will include other representatives from the world of sports, called upon to jointly implement a large-scale plan to keep boxing at the center of the Olympic movement, the report says.
World Boxing has been created in April 2023. At the moment, it includes National Federations from 44 countries of the world.
