Forum "Development of the Internet Sphere in Central Asia InternetCA-2023"

The XIV Central Asian Forum "Development of the Internet Sphere in Central Asia InternetCA-2023" was held in Almaty,  El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The topics of finding a balance in the regulation and provision of digital rights and freedoms, new technologies (neural network services, their role and impact on the main trends in the development of the Internet sphere) and information wars in the context of the geopolitical crisis were discussed.

Over the course of two days, over 40 representatives of government agencies, media, NGOs, as well as international and Central Asian experts in digital rights, fact-checking, media literacy, freedom of speech and human rights will speak at the sessions.

The Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by the Chairman of the Information Committee Eldos Nashirali, sharing the regulation of digital rights in Kazakhstan. Adviser to the Minister of Information Zhasulan Umiraliyev reported on the compliance of Kazakhstan's regulatory framework and practice with international principles.

The organizers of the forum, Mariana Mas, an expert in technology and human rights policy, Senior Program Manager of the Open Society Foundations, and Luis Rivera, USAID Deputy Regional Director for Central Asia, expressed their gratitude to the forum participants
