Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageFormer Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan Kanat Niyazbekov has been detained in connection with the deaths of military personnel during an exercise in the Caspian Sea, El.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry, Niyazbekov is suspected of negligence in the performance of his duties. He was detained by the military investigative units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and placed in a temporary detention facility.
A court subsequently authorized his arrest.The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
