Kazakhstan will change the rules for issuing foreigners or stateless persons the right to temporary or permanent residence in the country, El.kz reports with reference to the Open NGO portal.
A foreign passport was added to the list of required documents. Previously, a copy and the original of the national passport were required.
"A foreign passport is a document recognized by the Republic of Kazakhstan as a document certifying the identity of a foreigner or a stateless person and confirming their legal status," according to the legislation of Kazakhstan.
Also, now the certificates of non-conviction must be provided in paper form, signed by an authorized employee of the competent authority and certified by the stamped unit. Under the new rules, the printed electronic certificate will not have legal force.
