Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageA man suspected of internet fraud has been detained at the Almaty International Airport, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The detention was carried at the request of the National Central Bureau of Interpol. The foreigner is accused of committing 67 episodes of Internet fraud in Turkey.
According to law enforcement agencies, in 2018, the man posted false ads for the sale of pets on the Internet.
After many years the suspect was detained while trying to enter Kazakhstan. Currently, he is placed in a temporary detention center until the issue of extradition is resolved.
