First case of smallpox infection revealed in Russia

In Russia the first case of smallpox infection was registered, El.kz reports.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, the disease was detected in a young man who returned from a trip to Europe. He went to a medical facility with a characteristic rash. All contact people were identified in a timely manner, they are being observed by doctors.

"The patient is isolated and is in a medical organization of an infectious profile. The disease is mild. There is no threat to the patient's life. The circle of contacts of the patient during his stay in Russia was limited. He lived alone in the apartment," the report said.

 

According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for July 11, there is no case of smallpox infection registered in Kazakhstan.
