A female snow leopard named Norda has been caught on video along with her cub in Kyrgyzstan, El.kz reports.
According to ecologists, the predator gave birth in early January; the cub has been named Simba.
It is reported that at the beginning of the year, there were 289 snow leopards in the country. The birth of the new cub is an another step toward increasing the population of this rare predator.
The snow leopard is considered a symbol of Kyrgyzstan and is listed in the Red Book (of endangered species). Experts note that the conservation of these animals remains one of the most important tasks for the region.
The video of Norda and little Simba has already sparked great interest on social media. Users are calling the cub a "fluffy ball of fur" and wishing him to grow up strong and healthy.
